Getting installation package
Beginning with Release II SyMon has two editions:
- Lite edition without built-in disk editor
- Professional edition with built-in disk editor and calculator
Lite edition has shorter binaries than Professional one.
This allows it to be installed on older hard drives which have less than 63
sectors per track. These editions have the same basic functionality which
is needed for proper operating system monitoring.
SyMon binaries are much shorter than the setup programs and other
files in the distribution package. Therefore, beginning with version 3.12,
we include all editions of SyMon (both Lite and Professional) in every package.
The packages with version 3.12 and above do not require a floppy disk for
SyMon Setup if you can run plain DOS from your hard drive.
If you do not have DOS on your hard drive you must first prepare
a bootable floppy with DOS and copy the contents of the SyMon package
to that floppy.
SyMon Release 3 is free but it has to be registered
By registering the program you will help us to estimate the number of
its users. The registration procedure is fast and easy to do. Please refer
to the "Register" section.
You can use this software for evaluation purposes without registering for
a period of 40 days. When the evaluation period has expired you'll get a
warning message and the boot procedure of OSes will be delayed by 15 seconds.
SyMon does not stop functioning so you can boot your OSes and finish
registration process.
OTHER LANGUAGES:
If you don't find your mother tongue among versions listed above you may
make your own translation. It goes both for the SyMon setup system and
for the SyMon bootmanager itself. To do so you'll have
to translate the SyMon text messages file (approx. 11KB of text).
If you do it thoroughly, your name will be written to the history
of SyMon development!

This new version is designed to support large hard drives up to 2Tb, whereas the previous version 3.21.00 can only support
hard drives up to 502Gb.
If you can test this new version using large hard drives (that is, larger than 500Gb) so you could help us if you would
provide your testing report about possible bugs. Please send to us the following information along with your report:

Your BIOS version and vendor

The size of your hard drive and the type of its interface, such as ATA-100, SATA or SATA II
-
Whether you are using the RAID technology or not
